What that matters is love, to love ... is always the desire, never the time.
Maybe that's all we are allowed to take with us when we go out we come from blue and black.
Slight consolation, you say, but better than nothing. Stephen King

1. First Contact

The evening was falling off on the Great Eastern, when Aragorn the Ranger came in sight of the village of Bree. He had traveled quickly whilst trying to keep away from the main roads to not be noticed too, disreputable people wandered for some time now in those lands that once had been so calm.

The ranger sighed and walked to the Prancing Pony, the best inn in the village, where he had an appointment with strangers who had submitted, through people you trust, a message informing him that it wanted to offer a job well paid. Aragorn hoped that this work not only well-paid, as promised in the letter, was also in the long term.

In recent years, the war situation of Middle-earth was far too calm for a man who earned a living by selling his sword to the highest bidder, as well as assignments to accompany the caravans of merchants had become more rare. A bitter smile appeared on his face sharp and handsome man, he, the heir of an ancient race and honored him that he could claim the throne of the most important realm of Middle-earth: Gondor, he reduced the role of mercenary or bodyguard. He sighed with a shrug and drove those thoughts, they were useless, had no evidence to support claims of the kind: where were the ring Barahir, fragments of the sword Narsil, the scepter of Annúminas? All lost along the steep paths of time. Better that the throne would remain in the hands of the Stewards, who had proved more reliable and durable, the legitimate heirs.

While engaged in these dark thoughts came to the door of the inn as he entered and shook off those useless thoughts: maybe he had a new job and that was the most important thing.

Despite the air inside the inn was rendered turbid by the smoke from the chimney and the patrons and the tobacco lit room, the place was clean and Aragorn knew that the rooms were comfortable, the food tasty and the wine and good beer.

"Look who's here! The old Strider, were at least three years that did not happen here. ".

He was the host, cacti, to turn to Aragorn, who felt that the tone in the good-natured man was hiding a great deal of distrust towards it. The Ranger

annoyed, more than they showed, from the intrusiveness of the host who called on him so the attention of other patrons said in a low voice, but sharp as a knife: "I Butterbur meet here with two gentlemen, if you know someone is waiting for me? ".

The landlord stood dumbfounded for a moment, then, as if struck by lightning, exclaimed: "Of course! This morning came two gentlemen on beautiful gray horses, wrapped in cloaks, dark gray, which took the best rooms, meals consumed in private, and they told me they were waiting for the arrival of a tall man with dark hair ... I wonder what these gentlemen can take a bum like you? ".

Aragorn dried from the intrusiveness of the host said with a tone sharper than the one used earlier: "Then lead me to these noble lords, certainly do not want to wait longer than necessary.".

Butterbur, although it was still doubtful, and led him upstairs of the inn, knocked on a door, and after being given permission to enter, introduced the Ranger and went with a puzzled expression.

Aragorn remained in the room, a dining room with a fireplace and three chairs in front of it. Two were occupied by men tall, dark-haired and dressed in various shades of gray, some clear, shiny and iridescent, others dark and opaque. The lights of the fire on the clothes of the two men were playing, but left the faces in shadow, even if sometimes drew sparks from their eyes. One of them raised his hand in a gesture of invitation and said, "Sit next to us, son of Arathorn.. "

Aragorn stepped gingerly sat on the chair and free, so being seated between two mysterious strangers.

"Gentlemen," he said "you're ahead of me: you know who I am, and I do not even know your faces.."

The men remain silent, even if Aragorn had the feeling that they were smiling.

"You're right, Aragorn," said the man seated to his right, stood up and began to light the lamps that were in the room. The ranger kept

breathing, gradually the room was illuminated the features of two strangers became more defined: hair blacks, smooth and shiny, gray eyes sparkled when myriads of stars, which seemed chiseled features and slightly pointed ears! Elves, and more twins, which is extremely rare.

Aragorn was shocked: it was rare to see the elves in Middle Earth, and not because there were few, but because they were suspicious of all other peoples, were held on the sidelines in a city hidden, as in ancient times in Gondolin and Menegroth. Yet now two members of that race had come looking for him, two elves who knew his name and his descendants.

"Gentlemen," Aragorn spoke again "I can now know your name and the reason I've tried.."

"I am Elladan," said the elf who had lit the lamps and now stood beside the fireplace. "He is my brother Elrohir, nothing we can say for the moment about our identity. As to why you have tried I shall tell you what I can. ". The elf was silent for a moment staring at his brother in the eye, Aragorn knew that was happening somewhere between the two types of communications that he could understand and held his breath curious to know what was to follow and at the same time grateful that I can study and admire him for those two alien creatures, but extremely fascinating.

"We are only messengers of the simple," he started to explain Elladan, ripping the fugitive from his contemplation. "The person that you sent us looking forward to take the first contacts and see how you could be interested in his offer.".

The Ranger smiled, finally returning to discuss on solid ground, and said, "And I can hear this offer?".

"No." Elrohir replied, speaking for the first time. Aragorn looked at the elf surprised and a bit 'worried wondering if that was not some kind of trap that had been drawn out and threw a quick look at his sword.

"My brother wanted to say that we do not carry any message composed of words," Elladan interjected, "We bring you a message as a pledge.". Having said that he took out a very small object from his pocket and handed it to Aragorn holding it between your fingers so that he could not see what it was. The Ranger extended his hand, almost without noticing what he was doing, and feel something cold in his palm rest while your elf slowly withdrew his hand.

Aragorn said the object was a ring-like two snakes of gold, emerald-eyed, whose heads were united under a crown of flowers, a holding and the other ate. It was the ring Barahir! The Ranger looked amazed sull'elfo who just smiled and said: "The ring of your ancestors will be returned without conditions, the son of Arathorn, hold it! But something else you may be returned if you are willing to follow our instructions without asking anything for the moment. But just now, the night continues, and is not the time for decision Tomorrow morning we'll say what you decide. "Elladan concluded toward the door with his sister that just before leaving he turned to the astonished Ranger and said," Do not distress yourself with doubts Aragorn, rested that night, and decide tomorrow with the chin slightly. ".

Aragorn stood long alone before the fireplace watching the ring of his ancestors and reflecting on the limited information given to him by two elves and eventually made his decision. Then he put the ring on Butterbur finger and went looking to get something to eat and give a room to sleep.

2. Weathertop

The next morning, Aragorn went in search of the two elves and find them in the stable who prepared their horses for their departure said: "Gentlemen, I decided to take the job that I propose, whatever it is .. "

Elladan smiled and replied: "I am happy with your decision Aragorn, now I will give directions to people looking for you. You know the old built tower on Weathertop, which is about one hundred miles east of this village? ".

"Yes," replied the man "is Amon Sul, but is now uninhabited for centuries, I have always wondered how he manages to still be standing.".

"Well," said Elrohir who spoke up. "Head there as fast as you can and you'll meet who's looking for you! For now, farewell, "the elf said, holding out her hand to hold, and after him did the same Elladan, which in most embraced him as if it were some distant relative met for the first time in a long time and whispered: "Ben found Estel." Then followed his brother out of the barn and walked together to the west.

Aragorn walked for four days to the east, and came to the tower on the evening of the fourth day, when the first stars stuck in the sky. The tower stood tall and slim, yet also gave a feeling of strength, but the Ranger felt that something was wrong, not the tower itself, but in the fact that he was there to stand out clearly against the dark sky, after many centuries of neglect and many wars, why was not destroyed?

These thoughts plagued him for much, too much was curious to see who had sent the ring and was looking for him. The man entered the tower, having found the door open, and began to climb upwards, something told him that if someone was waiting in the room would have been higher.

The highest room of the tower occupying the entire top floor and can be accessed through a hatch in the floor, there was a table on which were laid some crystal goblets and a bottle containing a dark liquid, around the table there were some chairs, most people could not see, the only source of light were the stars. Aragorn took a few uncertain steps toward the table, did not like being in an unknown environment and more dimly lit, anyone could attack from behind, and it suddenly felt a cold blade on his neck and a beautifully modulated voice, but tinged Ironically, that whispered in his ear: "What I see! A Ranger caught off guard. " Then the person standing behind him laughed softly and a moment later, without Aragorn had seen no movement, stood in front of him with his face close to hers and smiled.

The sight of the stranger smiling at the Ranger took his breath: he was an elf, the thin hair, smooth as silk and so close that he could see that his eyes were a very dark blue as the deep sea. She had never seen such a creature, suddenly wanted to take his arms, kissing him and also possess the bare stone floor of that room if need be.

The elf stopped smiling and walked a few steps by the man as if he could feel his wishes and had been disturbed. Aragorn Meanwhile, he managed to regain control of his mind just enough to ask the ELF: "You were looking for me?" The tone of her voice sounded quite convincing in her ears even if the sentence had been pronounced in one breath. The elf smiled again and answered: "Yes, I am, but not just me. Other looking for you, and not all for your own good, luckily you have found us first Estel.. " "Why are you calling me so, he did so Elladan, and do not understand.". The elf was silent for a moment pondering then spoke again: "Elladan has always been reckless, named in a place where he could be heard from prying ears, but you wonder why you, maybe you do not know the meaning of this word?". "As someone of my race I speak Elvish from childhood," said the ranger with a tinge of resentment: quell'elfo what he believed, that no one apart from them could master the language? "But I do not understand why I call hope." The elf smiled again before answering. "Because you're Our hope Aragorn, because maybe you're the Barthannen, the predestined.. "

Aragorn stood dumbfounded in front of that statement, but recovered quickly, and when he spoke his tone was one of the annoyed and arrogant: "I'm tired of wasting time elf ...".

"My name is Legolas." Interrupted the elf.

"What?" Asked the man, surprised at being stopped at the beginning of what should have been a long tirade, voice low and quiet elf.

"It's my name: Legolas. I'd love that I used when I called elf with that tone you do look like an insult. ".

Aragorn was totally speechless, the elf, with those few sentences subdued, had made him feel guilty, and indeed, his reaction was quite disproportionate. Her lips were stretched in a guilty little smile and his mind memories of the ancient language of the elves surfaced that he had heard as a child and whispered, as if remembering something very remote, and get as close as possible to the ELF "Laiqalassë ...".

Legolas was surprised to hear from the lips of man out of his name in the form used in Eldamar High Elf, but then smiled again and finding it so close to him he did something that surprised not only Aragorn, but also himself: leaned toward him and touched his lips with his own. Aragorn did not expect anything like that, but he could not find anything to say on the subject, her arms around him enjoying the pleasure of that body heat close to your lips soft and rest on their own.

Legolas sank into the arms of man, could not find the will to free herself from that embrace, nor felt the desire to break away from those lips that were pressing on with its ever-increasing voracity, which claimed more ...

"Enough!" Exclaimed Legolas free from the arms of the man who looked surprised by that reaction and said, "Excuse me, but I felt sorry that you do not, after all you started it.."

The elf looked at him a moment before answering: "Yes, yes, but I was reckless. I was getting carried away ... far from that I came to actually do. ".

The man smiled, he knew that the elf was trying to convince himself more than him, but was in no hurry: he felt as he indulged in his arms and the furious beat of his heart, he knew that little would be enough to be able to get back into his arms and he did not intend for only a few kisses.

"Come, go down."

Aragorn was shaken from his thoughts by the voice elf, who had opened the hatch in the floor and was coming down to the lower rooms of the tower. The Ranger Legolas followed by several flights of stairs until the elf did not stop on a landing and opened the door of a room with a nod and invited him to follow him inside.

The room was very large and there was besides a large canopy bed, someone had bothered to prepare with embroidered sheets and soft blankets, a table with chairs around it, which rested on a tray covered, bottles, glasses, plates, cutlery and a chandelier with many arms on.

"Sit down," said Legolas, "you have traveled all day and I imagine that you will be tired and hungry, then you can rest if you want. I'm just here to give some clarification will not come until one who has actually called.. "

"And when will it arrive?".

"Most likely not until tomorrow morning.."

Legolas and Aragorn ate their meal in silence, while the elf pretended not to see the brazen way in which the man was watching him every now and then. Legolas felt very confused as he had done: thrown into the arms of the man, something for which he was ashamed, and wanting to do it again, something for which he was ashamed even more. After finishing the food on his plate 's elf knew that he had no excuses for not facing the man, yet it took all her will, and said: "If you want to rest until morning, you wake up I long for.. "

Aragorn smiled and replied: "Thank you, you are very kind, but you will not sleep?".

The elf said as he stood up and approached to a window: "I just stand there and watch the stars to rest.."

The ranger felt a great sadness in the voice elf and instead of saying a naughty phrases that had been prepared during the dinner, he went to get next to Legolas at the window and having his hand in his own grazed the cheekbone with his lips and whispered: "Rest well, Laiqalassë.."

The man left the elf with its stars, undressed, got under the covers and fell asleep almost immediately.

Legolas spent the night, not to observe the stars, but to contemplate the face of the Ranger asleep

3. The meeting

Early in the morning when the sky began to clear and the stars went out one after another, Legolas walked into the room's highest tower, waiting for the arrival of the mysterious individual who had there just to meet the Ranger.

elf's mind was troubled by many questions and he still felt uneasy for the conduct of a few hours before sleeping with the man who now several floors below and to the desires that still troubled his mind.

"What so disturbs your mind, Legolas, my friend? "asked a voice that seemed to take shape from the darkness of the room.

Legolas turned to the source of the sound and saw a high elf with long hair and blacks with bright gray eyes coming towards him slowly emerging from obscurity, as if he were taking form and substance little by little.

"Lord Elrond! At last you come! "Said Legolas, smiling and going towards him to hug him as was customary among the elves.

Elrond hugged Legolas, but after a few moments, he left him and returned to ask: "What troubles you?".

"You know. Him ".

"You've spent many years watching from afar, you have been following developments in his life, wondering if he really expect that much, and now you can not pretend to have answers to your questions within hours.".

Legolas shook his head and staring eyes in the other elf said, "This is not what worries me: I had the certainty that he was the first moment that his eyes met mine. Yet now I'm afraid.. "

"Afraid of what Legolas?" Elrond asked amazed that such a statement, in many centuries that Legolas knew he faced hundreds of enemies and dozens of dangerous assignments like the one for which he had sent out that night, yet never saw in him a shadow of fear . Now admitted to be scared, but from what?

"I'm afraid of what I felt for him tonight, and I still have fear because I know that this is going to change everything and not just for me. I measure up to confront him? I went through almost three thousand years without feeling the need nobody, alone, and tonight I was ready to throw his arms ...".

"Legolas You yourself know that this is the fate that has been read to you at the time of your birth. You can not oppose to forces that are bigger than all of us. "Muttered wearily Elrond.

"I do not want to oppose me, but I afraid of being carried away, and so to fail in my task and drag us all into bankruptcy."

Elrond smiled and replied: "Fear not Legolas, I I have full confidence in your strength and you have to have it too, because there has never betrayed. Now go call Aragorn, it's time explanations.. "

Legolas smiled gratefully and left the room.

Elrond smiled just left of the concerns of the other elf, he had nothing to fear for his abilities: that room was beautifully prepared, even he, if he had not known what was hidden, we would pass without noticing anything .

Curious about what could be real quell'inganno tried to sit on chairs and in addition to solid, also found it very comfortable. No Legolas had nothing to fear for his ability but for his heart? Elrond sighed, maybe that should have been losing for a greater good.

A single tear slid down the face of Elrond, he knew he had lost to someone who had always loved as one of his sons.

4. Revelations

When Legolas returned to the room he found Aragorn still deeply asleep. The elf smiled, approaching the bed where the man lay and watched fascinated for a while before deciding to wake him.

Legolas was determined to simply call it by name or up to shake slightly, but when the time came, however, put one knee on the bed and her hands on either side of the head of the Ranger and bent to kiss him.

Aragorn, accustomed from his life as a warrior to have your senses alert even when asleep, he was awake since the elf was back in the room, but decided to continue to pretend to be asleep to see what was going to do Legolas and he was found not at all repentant. Without the elf if the appearance, shook the Ranger force in his arms, and although he was prevented by the sheet and blanket under which he was, pulled him onto the bed and sat on him. Legolas is trapped in a kind of trap created by the twisted blankets and weight of the body of the man raised his head to meet the eyes of Aragorn. To his great surprise, the Ranger looked at him and whispered a question amused irony, "believed to be the prince that wakes the sleeping beauty?".

Legolas was so surprised that he could not help but chuckle at that question, forgetting the dignity of the offense and background of fear that had caused him to act the man.

Aragorn saw that the elf smiled and did not try any way to get rid began to kiss him with passion and feeling that others responded to his kiss with equal momentum began to caress her body and move up to Legolas.

The elf felt lost in the arms of the Ranger, there was no desire in him to stop him groped and felt tremendously excited by the knowledge that between him and Aragorn's naked body was covered only the twisted.

When Aragorn withdrew his mouth from the elf found himself in front of an incredibly fascinating spectacle: Legolas with his eyes closed, his head thrown back and her lips parted was the very image of pleasure. Feeling the body of the building above the Ranger Legolas opened his eyes and saw the amazement fascinated by which a man was watching him and asked, "What?"

"Le bain (You are beautiful), Laiqalassë , "muttered the man.

Legolas smiled, it was wonderful to lie in a bed in the arms of Aragorn, feel her kiss and the warmth of her body e. .. Aragorn felt the elf's body stiffened and which saw him blink as if only then take conscience of the situation in which they were.

"Aragorn! El We can not stay here .. the people waiting to come, we can not wait for it. "

"Why not? It will not hurt to wait a while ', whoever he is, "and began to kiss her neck passionately.

"No. .. not now, "whispered Legolas, but realizing that the man pretended not to hear sighed and said, desperate times call for desperate measures. What happened

left Aragorn without words, just before Legolas was shaking in his arms, passionately kissing her neck, a moment later as the elf had vanished and he sank his face into the pillow. Pulling down the trigger man saw the elf standing next to the bed which mending clothes and looked amused.

"How did you do? It is a kind of magic elf? "The man asked in surprise.

"Yes and no. Now clothes that we are already late. ".

Aragorn got up and dressed slowly, watching the elf that ostensibly looked out the window the sky was becoming clearer, and when he had finished approached him and whispered sensually, "It's beautiful, sunrise ...".

"It's a miracle!" Legolas replied cryptically and walked to the door making him sign to follow him.

Aragorn stood dumbfounded for a moment from the elf's cold and wondered if it was angered by what had happened before or ...

"I'm neither angry nor offended Aragorn. Now follow me, you will understand from too soon my feelings.. "

Aragorn returned to the room of the tallest tower in the wake of the elf Legolas, and seeing that awaited him sitting on an elegant carved chair could not help asking him: "They were the ones that you sent your children to meet me at the inn? ".

The elf smiled and replied: "I see that you have a sharp eye, Aragorn. Now please sit in front of me, time passes and we have much to talk about.. "

Aragorn sat in a chair in front of the mysterious guest, while Legolas sat next to him.

"First we want to introduce myself, because I do not want there to be no secrets between us. I'm Elrond.. "

Aragorn stood amazed: if the elf had revealed to be Sauron's disguise would not have been more surprised.

"It's impossible!" Said the ranger. "Elrond left for the West with most of the elves at the beginning of the Third Age after the victory of the Last Alliance.."

Elrond sighed: "I know it will be difficult to understand, but we were all fooled, the Last Alliance was not merely a fictitious victory, Sauron had already arranged everything (except for one small detail that tell you later ) he fell upon us when our defenses were down and used against us our own arms. ".

Aragorn Elrond stared in disbelief, and the elf knew he had to give evidence, but hesitated if he had not lived up to face the truth? How many more generations would have to happen before indicated that it was a suitable candidate, given that Aragorn was the last direct descendant of the great kings of the house of his brother Elros. Elrond's lips were stretched into a bitter smile: an elf who could not wait any longer!

Suddenly a movement caught his attention by his side, it was Legolas who stood up and was pouring the dark liquid into a glass that was in the glass bottle on the table. Legolas crossed a glance at the other elf who, after a moment's hesitation, agreed.

Aragorn Legolas held out his glass, saying, "Sogo (drink) Estel." Aragorn took elf's hands from the glass and stared at the uncertain content.

"I know," Legolas said, "I should offer you the chance to go free on your way considering only a bizarre incident but we too need you, your strength and your help, and not more time we would save many lives depend on you too and I can not afford to dispense with this test. Forgive me if you can.. "

To the surprise of the Ranger Legolas stared at him straight in the eye and said, "This will allow me to finally understand your feelings, completely understand? ".

that question the elf had to sit down, suddenly he felt his legs missing, while his mind was screaming: he can not be other than him and this will not fail! Legolas could only nod and then lowered her eyes as if overcome by some emotion too great.

Aragorn brought his attention to Elrond and said, "I do not know if you are telling the truth or not, but what I know is that, in a land almost completely abandoned by the elves, meet four few days, when a man of my race is as if one can glimpse from afar only once in his life, it is quite strange. ".

said that drank the contents of the glass in one gulp and brought his gaze on the two elves.

beginning nothing happened, then suddenly it seemed that the outlines of things began to fade, he dropped his glass in his hand, but rather than break, when he touched the ground liquefied, then darkness.

When he regained consciousness he was standing on a high tower, and beside him was Elrond looked high and majestic flaming wrapped in a blanket, said nothing, but held out his hand like a pure blue light ("Yes," spoke directly to his mind "This is one of the three rings elves. I am its caretaker, but that does not remember much from that time, now look! ") and Aragorn saw the panorama of desolation that stretched as far as the eye in all directions. It was a desolate land, a land cursed and suddenly realized that it was Middle-earth!

Elrond looked terrified, but he began to tell him how she had come a lot: Sauron had pretended to be defeated, that he had waited long enough so that the defenses were down and had hit in a big way and taking possession of the attacking Minas Ithil Palantír there and secure with that and his evil arts had created a trap, an illusion called the Matrix, where gradually trapped the minds of the inhabitants of Middle Earth without their knowing it. Very few, even among the elves, had managed to avoid the prison of deceit, even if it is true that he had failed to keep the elves for a few hundreds of years and seeing the massive escape increasingly had killed all those who had still in his hands: most young people and children. Sauron he was very resentful because the elves supplied energy is pure and strong as the other mortal races, besides the fact that they were almost endless, but unfortunately there was no way to control them. The other races

replacing pretty good this lack, and more rarely fled when he was an ally Saruman his strength had grown again and was considered so unassailable do not have to take care of the elves no more, nor fear the return of & rsquo , Heir of Isildur. Only one thing troubled the his mind had not yet found the One and wherever he was, he could not see it. A small flaw that would have brought down his house of cards built so well!

Aragorn was upset, he had lived a life that was not there, it was all a lie all he had done so far. What would happen to him, he could not return to live a life that was a lie now that he was aware!

"Back to the Light, son of Arathorn" The voice of Elrond remote yet very close to the shock and suddenly opened his eyes.

He was a tub of the crystal wrapped in a kind of gelatinous membrane, was choking, had to get rid! Uncorked the membrane with your fingers and teeth and emerged as a castaway from the waves, taking great gulps of air at that moment she realized that her stomach would be full of the thick liquid in which he lived because he began to vomit .

again a moment clung to the edge of the tub and tried to get out, but his muscles had not done anything simply refused to obey him, his mind began to scream crazy: you'll never get to go! An unexpected help came from his own prison that probably only designed to hold bodies in stasis, as this ended up rejecting them, s'infranse and making him fall on deaf ears, until his terrified mind would not let him back.
